Delray Beach experiences major exposure on international TV network

DELRAY BEACH, FL- January 24, 2012 – The Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative (DBMC), the  Palm Beach County Sports Commission and the Seagate Hotel & Spa worked together to bring the Extreme Professional Volleyball tournament onto Delray Beach for the very first time in September of last year.  The goal for adding the new event to the annual roster was to bring major exposure to the city through a new and fun event, highlighting the beach.  A 30 second television spot titled “The Big Swing – Delray Beach” was created out of the one-day tournament and aired a whopping 104 times.  There were added 31 television segments discussing the Delray Beach leg of the national tournament and 520 mentions during other shows.  The total number of subscribers for the network came to 168 million.

The DBMC, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission and the Seagate Hotel are officially in discussions to host the National Championship Tour for 2012.  “Bringing the EVP Tour to Delray Beach last year was such a wonderful experience.  We were very impressed at the support we received on the community, city and county levels while planning the tournament,” says Ross Balling, Tournament Commissioner for the EVP Tour.  “The volleyball community, the Seagate Hotel, the DBMC and the Palm Beach Sports Commission were all incredibly welcoming and helpful.  It is a no brainer for us to bring the National Tour to Delray Beach,” he adds.
